DEEPAVALI INDIAN FESTIVAL.

India is a land of festival .there are many festivals. september .october., november are the month every one looks forward. it is the season of festival.navaratri and deepavali  .people joys month  there joy has no bound  busy shopping . deepavali is all about  lights fire crackers new cloths sweats etc.several traditions are linked with this festival it brings great deal of joy and  happiness in the family all get together.it takes us back to our roots,the festival is marked with oil wick and lit in rows around the house, the reason is to celebrate the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and light over dark. people wear new cloths  exchange gifts cook delicious food .decorate the house it is celebrated with great pomp and splendor and has many different  rituals followed in different states.during this festival families come together,what canbe better blessing then this                             First day of deepavali is known as dhanteras and consider most auspicious to buy gold ,silver etc. people clean the house  make rangoli at the  main door of the house to welcome goddess lakshmi.. the second day is  choti deepavalivery popular among bengalies they belive on this day goddess kali killed the demon raktavijji /in north india people worship lord rama on this day people burst crackers. the third day is considered most significent people wear new cloths jewellery share gifts .on the fourth day goverdhan puja is performed known as annakoot especilly in muthura and nathdwara many  kinds of sweata are offered as bhog to the lord. the last day is known as bhai beig.. where sisters invite brother to her house prepare different kinds of dishes in turn receives gifts from brother it it very important  day for sister  sisters make sure they perform the rituals properly and in return brother promises to look after the sister. lakshmi puja is performed in the evening  . in short deepavali is the festival of joy and happiness.
